Blueberry Cobbler Smoothie
I hate getting colds. I complain about colds because that's about as sick as I get. I can't remember the last time I had the flu. When I started teaching my body decided to get strep rash instead of strep throat which was a delightful change because I don't feel sick. I just have this weird reaction that says "go get some antibiotics". So after two days of constantly blowing my nose my body finally screamed at me 'FRUIT YOU IDIOT!'. So I made a smoothie.
I don't hate fruit. I'm just almost never in the mood for sweet things. And drinking a meal might as well be starvation. Unless it's a chocolate peanut butter banana milkshake. Those are fine. Luckily I impulse bought some fruit a few weeks ago at my bro Trader Joe's and they came in quite handy today.
(*me... make up free the way to be, imagining I'm still 18 working at camp, just happy I have another snow day)
- 3 small or 2 large bananas frozen
- 1 1/2 cups blueberries frozen
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 drops lemon extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon or pumpkin spice (I wanted cinnamon but I ran across the pumpkin spice first so I used it. It was fine but I think the cinnamon like I originally envisioned would have been better)
- Put all in a blender and blend till smooth. I added about a cup or more of water and blended for at least a full minute
